Coaching in the Third Sector: What We Heard

Findings from a survey carried out in Mid and West Wales in 2026

Earlier this year, in collaboration with West Wales Action for Mental Health, I carried out a short survey with staff, volunteers, and leaders across the third sector in Mid and West Wales. People shared their experiences, pressures, and hopes — and what they feel would help them most.

Download the one‑page summary of the findings.

You can read more about the survey and why I carried it out in my blog post. Read the blog post

What the findings showed

The survey highlighted:

  • a strong appetite for coaching and reflective space

  • limited access, especially in smaller organisations

  • clear benefits where coaching is available

  • barriers around time, cost, and capacity

  • a need for more information about coaching

How the findings shape what I offer

The report has directly informed how I design my work with organisations. It’s why I offer:

  • low‑barrier coaching options

  • reflective practice groups

  • coaching‑based team sessions such as Action Learning Sets

  • co‑designed approaches that fit your context and aims

  • spaces that are relational, reflective, and human‑centred

My aim is to make coaching and reflective space more accessible, more useful, and a practical solution to the real pressures people face across the third sector.

If you’d like to explore support for your organisation

I’d be happy to begin with a conversation. Book a short call.

A friendly, informal way to explore what might help.

Taken together, the findings point to something many people in the sector already know: people want space to think, reflect, and make sense of their work — but it’s often hard to find.
